Julii Cory Catfish
The Julii Cory Catfish (Corydoras julii) is a small, peaceful freshwater fish known for its distinctive spotted pattern of black dots on a silver body, along with its short whisker-like barbels. Native to the slow-moving rivers and streams of South America, particularly in Brazil, this species is a popular choice for community tanks due to its friendly nature and bottom-dwelling habits.
Julii Cory Catfish thrive in aquariums with soft substrates, such as sand, and plenty of hiding places like plants or driftwood. They prefer water temperatures between 72-78°F (22-26°C) and do best in small groups, where they exhibit social and playful behavior.
Their diet includes sinking pellets, flakes, and live or frozen foods like bloodworms or brine shrimp. With proper care, Julii Cory Catfish can live up to 5 years, contributing to a peaceful and active aquarium environment.
