Honey Gourami

$12.00Price

The honey gourami, Trichogaster chuna, is a peaceful and beautifully colored freshwater fish native to the slow-moving rivers and ponds of India and Bangladesh. Known for its warm honey-gold coloration, this small fish typically grows to about 2 inches in length. Males often display brighter hues with reddish or orange tints, particularly during breeding.

Honey gouramis thrive in well-planted aquariums with gentle water flow, plenty of hiding spots, and floating plants. They prefer water temperatures between 72-82°F and a pH range of 6.0-7.5. As omnivores, honey gouramis enjoy a varied diet that includes high-quality flakes, micro-pellets, and occasional live or frozen foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp.

Their gentle demeanor, hardiness, and vibrant coloration make honey gouramis a popular choice among aquarists, especially for peaceful community tanks or nano setups looking for a touch of color and tranquility.
